thereupon William Fearth of Kent County planter came and in his proper person
and Acknowledged himself Indebted to the Right Honourable the Lord prop.ry in the
Sum of five thousand pounds of Tobacco to be paid unto his Lord Ship his heirs
and Successors Conditionally to be made and Leveyd on his body goods and Chattles
Lands and Tenements Conditionally That if the afd Joan Anderson Shall not
make his personall appearance at the next Court to be held for Said County on
the third tuesday in August next then and there to Answer unto a Certain Indictm.t
found against her for Committing fornication &c.a wherewith he acknowledges

the Lord proprietarie that now is for Kent County afd upon their
oath do present that Mary Davis late of Shrewsbury parish in the
County afd Spinster the tenth day of Aprill Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and thirty
at the parish afd in the County afd in this the Jurisdicon of this Court did Committ
fornication with a Certain person to the Jurors afd unknown and did permitt the Same
unknown person then and there to have Carnal knowledge of her body and to beget
then and there a Bastard Child on the body of her the Same Mary to the high
displeasure of Almighty God to the Evil Example of all others in Such Case
offending Contrary to the peace of the Said Lord proprietary that now is his
good rule and Government and against the form of the Act of Assembly in

is Considered by the Justices here to wit at the Court House in the
Town of Chester in Said County on the third tuesday in June being the fifteenth
