neither &c.a To Recognize &c.a because as well &c.a of which Said pcept the Said Sheriffe
to wit Joseph Young Guild now here at this day to wit the third tuesday of
June Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and thirty One makes return that he hath
here ready twelve &c.a as by his pcept he was Commanded and now here afterwards
to wit the day & year last mentioned Came againe the afd Lord p.ry by
Tench ffrancis his Clark of Indictments of this Court and Joan Anderson in her
proper person And the Jurors of that Jury being Impannelled and called
likewise came to wit Robert Dunn George Griffith Philip Davis John
Williams John Hurtt Thomas Massey William Sincocks Chris.r Bellican Sam.l
Tovey John Browning Luk.r Middleton and Jacob Perkins who being duely
elected tryed and Sworn to Say the truth the premisses upon their Oath do
Say Joan Anderson ^is guilty^ of the felony afd as She Stands indicted and by Robert
Duan therefore may also Say                                Therefore it is Considered  by
the Justices here to wit at the Court House in the Town of Chester in Said
County on the third tuesday in June being the fifteenth day of June Anno
Dom. Seventeen hundred and thirty one That the afd Joan Anderson
Stand on the pillory for the Space of half an hour and that afterwards
She Receive at the publick Whipping post Sixteen Lashes well laid on her
bare back tell the blood ap.r And also pay the four fold of the Value of the
goods afd Stoln being of the Value of two Shill Six pence ^the four fold^ Amounting in
the whole to the Sum of two Shill Current money of the province afd
being as a punishment for the Crime afd  And also pay the Sum of Six
hundred Sixty Seven pounds of Tobacco Cost accrueing on the premisses afd
to the officers of this Court

    It is also Considered by the Court here at this day to wit the day and
year last mentioned that the Sherf of Kent County take the afd Joan
Anderson into his Custody and Execute the punishment in the Judgment
afd Specified and afterwards bring her into Court againe of which
precept to wit Joseph Young Gent high Sherrife of Kent County
makes return on the day and year last Said that he hath Executed
the punishment in the afd Judgment and also hath here ready the
Said Joan Anderson before the Court
