 Warrant being made out to Thomas Wilkins one of the
Constables of Said County to take the afd Benj.a to answ.r into
an Indictm.t of fornication And the Same Cunstable came &
made return that he had the body of the Same Benjamin at this Court as by
the Same Warrant he was directed  And the Same Benj.a came into Court
and The Indictm.t was as foll.  Kent County fs  The Jurors for the Right
Honourable the Lord Prop.ry that now is for the Body of Kent County afd upon
their Oath do present That Benjamin Sutton late of S.t pauls parish in this
County afd planter the tenth day of March Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred twenty
and Nine at the parish afd in the County afd within the Jurisdicon of this Court
did Committ fornication with a Certain Mary Punny and then and there did begett
a bastard Child on the Body of her the Same Mary to the high displeasure of
almighty God to the Evill Example of all others in Such Case offending
contrary to the Peace of the Said Lord prop.ry that now is his good rule and
Governm.t and against the form of the Act of Assembly in Such case lately
made and provided    Test Mary Punny                        T ffrancis Cler. pac.
    On the Same was endorsed as foll. viz.t True Bill pine Roger Hicks foreman

    And the afd Benjamin came and in his prop.r person appeared to the afd
Indictm.t            And also in his proper person comes and Saith that he
cannot gainsay the Indictm.t afd So as afd against him brought nor but that
he is guilty of the fornication afd above upon him alledged as by the
afd Indictm.t is Sett forth  And Thereupon Submitts to the Court

    Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit at the Court
House in the Town of Chest.r in Said County on the third tuesday in Nov.r
being the Seventeenth day of Said Month Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred
and Thirty  That the afd Benjamin Sutton pay the Sume of thirty
Shilling's Current money as a fine for his offence afd to the use of our
Said County according to Act of Assembly in Such case lately made & provided
&c.a  And also pay the Sum of two hundred forty five pounds of Tobacco
Cost & Charges accrueing on the premisses afd to the officers of this Court

    Ordered by the Court here That Security be gave for the fees afd
Thereupon John Evans of Kent County Gent in Court Saith that he will
pay the fees afd and Thereupon y.e Same Benj.a is disch.d

    The fine afd is Delivered The Sherf of S.d Coty

    Mary Punney with Surety entrd into recog.c at last Aug.st Court as an
Evid.c ag.st the afd Benjamin  And now at this Court the afd Mary appeared to
the Same Recogniz.c and prayd She might be Disch.d as also her Surety Ordered
by the Court here That the Same Mary and her Surety M.r Alex.r Williamson
be disch.d &c.a  The Same Mary Punny at last Aug.st Court Entered into
Recognizance in the Sum of five pounds Sterl to the use of his Ldsp
for her appearance to this Court as an Evid.c as afd The Same is by the Court
disch.d  The Rev.rnd M.r Alex.r Williamson at the Same Court afd Ent.rd into
Recog.c in y.e Same Sum afd for y.e app.rc of the afd Mary to this Court to y.e use afd
And now at this Court the Same is disch.d &c.a
