God to the evil Example of all others in Such case offending contrary to the
peace of the Said Lord prop.ry his good rule and Government and against the form
of the Act of Assembly in that case made & provided Wherefore the afd Attry
prayeth the advice of the Court here in the premisses for the Said Lord prop.ry and
due process of Case against the afd Mary at this part to Issue to answer to
the Said Lord prop.ry of and upon the Premisses &c.a

    And The afd Mary now here at the Said Court to wit the Seventeenth
day of Nov.r Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and thirty cometh and appears in
her proper person                                And Saith that She cannot gainsay the
Indictment afd So as afd against her brought nor but that She is guilty of the
premisses above her imposed as by the afd Indictment it is alledged & thereupon
Submits to the Court  Therefore it is Considered by the Justices
here to wit at Kent County afd at the Court House in the Town of Chester in
Said County on the third tuesday in Nov.r being the Seventeenth day of Said
Month Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and thirty  That the afd Mary Do
Receive on her bare back twenty Lashes well laid on her bare back till the
blood app.r for her offence of fornication afd Informs afd Confest as also the
Sum of two hundred and Seventy pounds of Tobacco Cost accrueing on the
premisses afd to the officers of this Court &c.a

    It is also Considered by the Court here at this day to wit the day
and Year last mentioned That the Sherf of Kent County take the afd
Mary Parker into his Custody and Execute the Punishment in the Judgm.t
afd Specified and afterwards to bring her into Court againe

    Off which precept to wit Joseph Young Gent high Sherf of Kent
County makes Return on the day & year last Said That he hath Executed
the Punishment in the afd Judgment and also hath here the Said Mary
Parker before the Court    Jos Young Sher.

Sam.l Clarke to answ.r unto a Certain Indictm.t of
assault And Joseph Young Gent Sherf of the Same

here on the third tuesday in Nov.r being the Seventeenth day of Said Month
Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and thirty    Endorsed as foll viz.t Cepi Corpus
                                                                                Jo Young Sher.

    Kent County fs The Jurors for the Right Honourable the Lord Proprietary that
now is for the body of Kent County upon their Oath do present that Samuel Clark
of S.t pauls Parish in the County afd Planter the first day of August Anno Dom
Seventeen hundred and thirty at the Parish afd in the County afd within the
