of June Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and thirty and for the Same Lord prop.ry doth give the Court hereto understand and be informed that Nathaniel Miller late of S.t pauls parish in the County afd planter the tenth day of June Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred twenty and Nine at the parish afd in the County afd within the Jurisdicon of this Court did committ fornication with Elizabeth Davis and then and there did beget a bastard child on the body of the Same Elizabeth to the high displeasure of Almighty God to the Evil Example of all others in Such offending contrary to the Peace of the Said Lord prop.ry his good rule and Government and against the form of the Act of Assembly in Such made and provided &c.a wherefore the afd Attry prayeth the advice of the Court here in the premisses for her Said Lord prop.ry and due process of Law against the afd Nathaniel in this part to Issue to answer to the Said Lord prop.ry of and upon the premisses &c.a Tench Francis Cler. pac. And the afd Nathaniel Miller in his proper person comes and Saith that he cannot gainsay the Information afd So as afd against him brought nor but that he is guilty of the premisses above upon him imposed as by the afd Information it is alledged And thereupon Submitts to the Court Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit at the Court House in the Town of Chest.r in Said County on the third tuesday in August being the Eighteenth day of Said Month Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and thirty That the Said Nath.l Miller pay the Sume of thirty Shillings Current money as a fine for Committing the offence of fornication afd according to Act of Assembly in Such case lately made and provided And also pay the Sum of two hundred forty three pds of Tob.o Costs accrueing on the premisses afd to the officers of this Court Ordered by the Court here That Security be gave for the above fine and fees Thereupon comes into Court Samuel Wickes of Said County and SAith that he will pay the fine and fees afd and the afd Nathaniel Miller is therefrom discharged Ordered by the Court here That the afd Nathaniel Miller give Security to Indemnifie the County from any charge that may ensue on Acco.t of the afd Child to the County And on which came the afd Nath.l Miller and acknowledged himselfe indebted to the right hon.rble the Lord prop.ry in the Sume of two Thousand five hundred pounds of Tobacco to the use of his Said Lordship his heires and Successors Conditionally |
