151 certain person to the Jurors afd unknown and did permit the Same unknown person then and there to have Carnal knowledge of her body and to beget then and there a bastard Child on the Body of her the Same Mary to the high displeasure of Almighty God to the Evil Example of all others in Such Case offending Contrary to the peace of the Said Lord prop.ry that now is his good rule and Government and against the form of the Act of Assembly in that Case made and provided T ffrancis Cler. pac. The afd Indictm.t was Endorsed viz.t Billa Vera p ine Tho.s Hynson foreman And the afd Mary Punny in her proper person Comes and Saith that She can not gainsay the Indictm.t afd So as afd against her brought nor but that she is guilty of the premisses above upon her imposed as by the afd Indictm.t it is alledged & thereupon Submits to this Court Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit at the Court House in the Town of Chester in Said County on the third tuesday in August being the Eighteenth day of Said Month Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and thirty That the afd Mary Punny Pay the Sum of thirty Shillings Current money as a fine for Committing the offence of fornication afd According to Act of Assembly in Such case lately made and provided And also Pay the Sume of two hundred Eight four pounds of tobacco Cost accrueing on the premisses afd to the officers of this Court &c.a Jam.s Smith Clk. Ordered by the Court here that the Said Mary Punny prove the begett.r of the afd Child Thereupon being Sworn Declares that a Certain Benj.a Sutton of Said County was y.e person that Committed fornication with her and that begatt her with the Child as above She is charged with Ordered by the Court here that the afd Mary give Security for the fees accrueing on the premisses afd Thereupon The Rev.rnd Jn.o Alex.r Williamson of Said County comes into Court and Saith that he will pay all the fees to the officers of this Court on the premisses afd and the afd Mary is thereupon discharged &c.a
