    Ordered by the Court here that the afd Tho Unick give Security for the afd fine & fees
and Thereupon comes into Court John Cooper of Said County and Saith that
he will pay the afd Sum of five Shillings beefore afd and the Cost thereupon
accrueing &c.a

Lord propry that now is for the body of Kent County afd
upon their oath do present that William Copper of
S.t pauls parish in the Country afd planter the tenth day
of February Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and twenty
nine at the parish afd in the County afd within the Jurisdicion
of this Court in and upon a Certain John Tillard in the peace of God and of the Said Lord
propry then and there being with force and Armes an Assault did make and him the
Said John then and there did beat wound and evilly treat So that of his life it was
much Despaired and other harms to him then and there did to the great damage of
the Same John and Contrary to the peace of the Said Lord propry that now is his good
Rule and Government &c.a

On the back of the Same bill was endorst as foll A true bill p Gid.n Pearce foreman,

    And the afd William Copper in his proper person comes and Saith that he
is in no Sort guilty of the premises above upon him Imposed as by the afd
Indictm.t it is alledged And thereof he putteth himselfe upon the Country
And he who followeth for the Lord propry in like manner Saith he is
guilty

    And now here at this Court to wit the Sixteenth day of June Anno Dom. Seventeen
hundred and thirty came the afd William Copper and Saith Notwithstanding
his plea afd he comes and withdraws the Same And Saith
that he cannot gainsay the Indictm.t afd So afd against him brought
nor but that he is guilty of the premises above upon him Imposed as by the
afd Indictm.t it is alledged and Thereupon Submits to the Court Therefore
it is Considered by the Justices here to wit the Same day last mentioned
That the Said William Copper pay the Sume of five Shill Sterl money
to the use of his Said Lordship &c.a as a fine for Committing the assault
afd And also pay the Sume of two hundred fifty Eight pds of Tobacco
Cost Accrueing on the premisses afd to the officers of this Court &c.a

    Ordered by the Court here that the afd William Copper give Security for
the afd fine & fees And thereupon comes into Court Nich.o Joce of Said
County and Saith that he will pay the afd Sume of five Shillings the
fine afd and the Cost thereon Accrueing of the Same William doth not
pay it himselfe

    The afd W.m at last Court ent.rd in to Recogniz.c with Security for his ap.rc
in Court to answ.r the afd Indictm.t &c.a  And now the afd W.m Copper
in his proper person appears that the Same be discharged by the Court
