Tenements to the use of his Said Lord Ship his heires and Successors Conditionally that
if the Same Thomas Gresham Shall not make his personall appearance at this next Court
to be held for Said County on the third tuesday in August next ensuing And that in the mean
time he is to be of good behav.r wherewith the Same John Gresham Acknowledged
himselfe to be therewith Content

propry that now is for the body of Kent County afd upon their
oath do present that Thomas Gresham late of Saint pauls parish
in the County afd Gentleman the Twentieth day of June Anno
Dom. Seventeen hundred and thirty at the parish afd in the County
afd within the Jurisdicion of this Court in and upon a Certain William Usley in the peace of
God and of the Said Lord propry then and there being with Force and Armes on assault did
make and him the Said William then and there did beat wound and evilly treat So that
of his life it was much despaired and other harms to him then and there did to the great
damage of the Same William and contrary to the peace of the Said Lord propry his
good rule and government &c.a

    On the back of the Same was read afd as foll A true bill of Vera by W.m Crowe foreman

    And the afd Thomas Gresham in his proper pson comes and Saith that he Cannot gainsay
the Indictment afd So as afd against him brought Nor but that he is guilty of the assault
above mentioned as by the afd Indictment it is alledged And thereupon Submits to the
Court    Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit at the Court House in the
Town of Chest.r on Chest.r River in Said County On the third tuesday in June being the Sixth
day of Said Month Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and thirty  That the Same Thomas Gresham
pay the Sume of five hundred pounds of Tobacco to the use of his Said Lord Ship his
heirs and Successors as a fine for Committing the assault afd and also pay the Sum
of four hundred and twenty five pounds of Tobacco Cost accrueing on the premises
above to the officers of this Court

the Same Thomas Gresham may give Security for the fine afd  Ordered by the Court
here that the same Thomas give Security for the Said fine  On which Richard Gresham
of Said County here psent in Court cometh and Saith that he will pay the afd fine
of five hundred pounds tobacco for the afd Thomas Gresham to his Said Lord Ship
his heires and Successors ^to any of^ them ord.r
