 Kent County fs  The Jurors for the Right Hon.rble the Lord proprietary
that now is for Kent County afd upon their Oath do
present that Isabella Lauder Late of S.t pauls parish in the
County afd Spinster Servant of George Copper the tenth day
of June Anno Dom. seventeen hundred and twenty nine
at the parish afd in Kent County afd within the Jurisdicion of this Court did Committ fornication
with a Certain person to the Jurors afd unknown and did permit the Same unknown
person then and there to have Carnal knowledge of her body and to begett then and
there a Bastard Child on the body of her the Same Isabella to the high displeasure
of Almighty God to the Evil Example of all others in Such Case Offending Contrary
to the peace of the Said Lord proprietary that now is his good Rule and Government
and against the form of the Act of Assembly in that case made & provided

    On the back of the Same was Endorst as foll viz.t A true bill p Gid.n Pearce foreman

    And the afd Isabella in her proper pson comes and Saith that She cannot gainsay the
Indictment afd So as afd against her brought nor but that She is guilty of the premises
above upon her Imposed as by the afd Indictm.t it is alledged and thereupon Submits
to the Court  Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit
at the Court House in the Town of Chester in Chest.r River On the third tuesday in
June being the Sixteenth day of Said Month Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and
thirty   That the afd Isabella Lauder Receive on her back Twenty one Lashes well
laid on her back tell the blood ap.r at the publick whipping post as a punishment
for her afd Crime of Committing fornication according to her Confession afd and also
pay the Sume of two hundred Seventy three pounds of Tobacco Cost Accrueing on
the premises afd to the officers of this Court

    It is also Considered by the Court here at this day to wit the Same day and Year
last mentioned That the Sherf of Kent County take the afd Isabella Lauder into his Custody
and Execute the Punishment in the Judgment afd Specified and afterwards to bring
her into Court againe  Off which precept the Said Sherf to wit Joseph Young Gent
high Sherf of Kent County makes return on the day and Year last Said That he hath
Executed the Punishment in the Judgment afd and also hath here the Said
Isabella before the Court

    Ordered by the Court that the be allowance for trouble &c.a  The afd
Isabella Lauder to Serve at the Expiration of her new Service to her Master
four Months it being for trouble Loss time disgrace and charge Lying In
and that her Mast.r deliv.r her up to the Court or Sherf

within the Jurisdicion of this Court did Committ fornication with a Certain pson to the
Jurors afd unknown did permit the Same unknown person then and there to have
