Test W.m Hill on the same bill was Indorst as foll viz.t a true bill pr Gid.n Pearce foreman

    And the afd Emanuel Drew in his proper person cometh and Saith that he is in no Sort
guilty of the premises above upon him Imposed as by the afd Indictm.t it is alledged
and thereof he putteth himselfe upon the Country

    And he who followeth for the Lord prop.ry in like manner Saith he is guilty
                                                                                        T ffrancis p Ld prop.ry

    And now here at this Court Notwithstanding the plea afd The Same Emanuel Drew comes
into Court and with Draws his plea afd and in his proper person comes and Saith that
he cannot gainsay the Indictment afd So as afd against him brought nor but that he is
guilty of the premises afd as by the Same Indictm.t it is alledged And thereupon Submits
to the Court.    Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit at the
Court House in the Town of Chester in Said County on the third tuesday in March being
the Seventeenth day of Said Month Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and twenty Nine
That the afd Emanuel Drew Stand in the pillory for the Space of one quarter of an hour
and that afterwards he Receive at the publick whipping post five Lashes well laid on
his bare back till the blood appear as a punishment for his afd Crime of felony
according to the force form and Effect of his Confession afd   Also it is Considered
that the Said Emanuel Drew pay the Sume of One Shilling Current money
it being that part the Court adjudged You to pay of the four fold of the afd Goods
Stoln being halfe and also pay the Sume of Three hundred and thirty pounds of Tob.o
Costs accrueing on the premises afd to the officers of this Court

    It is also Considered by the Court here at this day to wit the day and Year last mentioned
that the Sherf of Kent County take the afd Emanuel Drew into his Custody and
Execute the punishment in the Judgment afd Specified of which precept the Said
Sherf to wit Joseph Young Gent high Sherf of Kent County makes return on the
day & Year last Said that he hath Executed the Said Judgment And also hath
here the Said Emanuel Drew before the Court

    Ordered by the Court here that the Said Emanuel be d.d up at the Expiration
of his time to the Court or Sherf of Said County

their Oath to present that george Harrington late of S.t pauls
parish in the Said County Labourer the Servant of George
Copper And Emanuel Drew of the Same County and parish
Labourer the Servant of William Copper the tenth day of
February Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred Twenty and Nine at the parish afd in
the County afd within the Jurisdicion of this Court with force and Armes a Saddle
being the Value of four hundred pounds of Tobacco of the goods and Chattles of a
Certain William Hynson then and there being found then and there did feloniously
did Steal take and bear away Contrary to the peace of the Said Lord propry that
now is his good rule and Government and against the form of the Act of Assembly in
Such Case lately made & provided
