112 force and Arms at the parish afd in the County afd within the Jurisdicion of this Court one knife of the Value of twelve pounds of Tobacco and one fork of the Value of Eight pds of Tobacco of the goods and Chattles of a Certain William Hill then and there being found then and there did feloniously steal and take bear away Contrary to the peace of the Said Lord prop.ry that now is his good rule and Government and against the form of the Act of Assembly in Such Case made and provided Test William Hill T ffrancis Cler. pac. On the back of the preceeding Indictm.t was endorst as foll viz.t A true bill p Gid.n Pearce foreman And the afd George Harrington in his proper person cometh and Saith that he is in no Sort guilty of the premisses above upon him Imposed as by the afd Indictm.t it is alledged and thereof he putteth himselfe upon the Country Geo Harrington in pper psona And he who followeth for the Lord prop.ry in like manner Saith he is guilty T ffrancis p Ld prop.ry And now here at this Court Notwithstanding the plea afd the Same George Harrington comes into Court and with draws his plea afd And in his proper person comes and Saith that he Cannot gainsay the Indictment afd do as afd against him brought nor but that he is guilty of the premisses afd above upon him Imposed as by the afd Indictment it is alledged And thereupon Submits to this Court Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit at the Court House in the Town of Chest.r in Said County on the third tuesday in March being the Seventeenth day of Said Month Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred twenty Nine That the afd George Harrington Stand in the Pillory for the Space of one quarter of an hour And that afterwards he Receive at the Publick whipping post five Lashes well laid on his bare back till the blood appear as a punishment for his afd Crime of felony according to the force form and effect of his Confession afd Also it is Considered that the Said George Harrington pay the Sum of one Shilling Current money it being that part the Court adjudged You to pay of the four fold of the afd Goods Stoln being halfe and also the Sume of Three hundred and thirty pounds of Tobacco Cost Accrueing on the premisses afd to the officers of this Court It is also Considered by the Court here at this day to wit the day and year last mentioned That the Sherf of Kent County take the afd George Harrington into his Custody and Execute the punishment in the Judgment afd Specified And afterwards to bring him into Court againe Off which precept the Said Sherf to wit Joseph Young Gent high Sherf of Kent County makes return on the day and year last Said that he hath Executed the Judgment afd and also hath here the Said George Harrington before the Court
