that her ap.rc may be taken and the afd Eliz.a ap.rd and also pray that her recog.c & her
Suretys may be disch.d  Ord.rd by the Court her that &c.a Same be disch.d &c.a The afd
Eliz.a Evans and the afd Wedge Crouch her Surety there Recog.cs be disch.d &c.a

 Kent County fs the Jurors for the Right Hon.rble the Lord prop.ry
that now is for Kent County afd upon their Oath do present that
Elizabeth Evans late of S.t pauls parish in the County afd
Spinster the tenth day of June Anno Dom Seventeen hundred
twenty and Nine at the parish afd in the County afd within the
Jurisdicion of this Court did Commit fornication with a Certain person to the Jurors
afd unknown and did Permit the Same person then and there to have
Carnal knowledge of her body and to beget then and there a Bastard Child on
the body of her the Same Elizabeth to the high Displeasure of Almighty God
to the Evil Example of all others in Such Case Offending Contrary to the peace
of the Said Lord prop.ry that now is his good rule and Governm.t and against the
form of the Act of Assembly in that Case made and provided

    On the back of the preceeding Indictm.t and all as foll viz.t A True bill p

    And the afd Elizabeth Evans in her proper person Comes and Saith that he Cannot
gainsay the Indictment afd so as afd against him brought nor but that She is guilty
of the premisses above upon her Imposed as by the afd Indictment it is alledged
and thereupon Submits to the Court         Therefore it is Considered by the Justices
here to wit Att the Court House in the Town of Chester in Said County on the third
tuesday in March being the Seventeenth day of Said Month Anno Dom Seventeen
hundred and Twenty Nine That the afd Elizabeth Evans pay the Sume of thirty
Shillings Current money it being as a fine for Committing the offence of fornication
as afd as also the Sume of one hundred and Seventy Eight pds of
Tobacco Cost Accrueing on the premises afd to the officers of this Court

    Ordered by the Court here that the said Eliz.a prove upon her oath the person
that was the begett.r of the afd Child  Thereupon comes into Court the afd Eliz.a
and being Sworn Declares that a Certain Charles Griffin was the person that
begatt her afd Child &c.a as by y.e afd Charles's Confession afd app.rs

    Ordered by the Court here that the Said Eliz give Security for her fees as
afd  Thereupon comes into Court Wedge Crouch of Said County and Saith
that he will pay the afd for the afd Elizabeth Evans &c.a
