missioners of Carroll County are hereby authorized and em-
powered to cause to be levied and collected from the assessable
property in Carroll County, a sum sufficient to pay to each of
the said banks the aforesaid sums of money, respectively, bor-
rowed from each of said banks, together with the interest
thereon; and said tax shall be collected in like manner as other
taxes levied in said county are collected, and when collected
shall be applied to the payment of said sums of money, re-
spectively, borrowed from said banks, together with the interest
thereon.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That whenever the
amount of taxes collected shall be insufficient to meet the cur-
rent expenses of Carroll County, the County Commissioners of
Carroll County shall be authorized and empowered to borrow
upon the credit of said county, such sum of money, not to ex-
ceed $100, 000. 00, as may be necessary to pay such expenses.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the first day of June, 1922.

CHAPTER 43.
AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners of Frederick
County to borrow the sum of $20, 000. 00 on promissory
notes to reimburse certain estimates of the Board of Esti-
mates of said county for the contribution of Frederick Coun-
ty to the State Roads Commission in the construction of
3. 87 miles of State road in 1921 on the road leading from
Ceresville to Libertytown in said county, contracted for by
the State Roads Commissioner after said estimates were
made.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Frederick County be
and they are hereby authorized to borrow the sum of $20, 000. 00
on the credit of said county for the purpose of reimbursing
certain estimates of the Board of Estimates of said county
made in 1921, for the contribution of said Frederick County
paid to the State Roads Commission for the construction of
3. 87 miles of State road on the road leading from Ceresville to
Libertytown in said county, and to issue promissory notes
