CHAPTER 369.

AN ACT to amend Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland, title ''Anne Arundel County," by adding eight
new sections thereto under the sub-title "County Commis-
sioners" of the Code by Ridgelv P. Melvin, to, be known as
Sections 186A, 186B, 186C, 186D, 186E, 186F, 186G and
186H of said Article, the same providing for the construc-
tion and maintenance of sewers and drains in said county,
the compelling of connections with private sewerage plants
under certain conditions, and the acquisition of such plants
by said county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land, title "Anne Arundel County," be amended by adding
eight new sections thereto under the sub-title "County Com-
missioners," as codified by Ridgelv P. Melvin, Esq., to be
known as Sections 186A, 186B, 186C, 186D, 186E, 186F,
186G and 186H of said Article, and to read as follows:

186A. Subject to the conditions and restrictions herein-
after contained, the County Commissioners of Anne Arundel
County shall have full power and authority to establish sewer-
age or drainage systems in said county whenever in their opin-
ion public welfare or convenience may so require; and shall
further have power to provide by reasonable regulations for the
proper maintenance, preservation, protection, examination, in-
spection and repair of the same, whether on public or private
property, all such regulations to be subject to approval by the
State Board of Health of Maryland, and when so approved, to
have all the force and effect of law. The power so delegated
shall be taken to include the power to open, alter, enlarge or
straighten, subject to the provisions hereinafter contained, any
sewer or drain, public or private through any public or private
property, to inspect and regulate house drainage and sewerage
connections, both public and private, to condemn lands or other
property necessary in the construction or maintenance of such
sewerage system or systems and their appurtenances, and to
dispose of sewerage so collected by contract or otherwise, to
provide for the cost of such systems, and generally to do all
other and such things and pass such regulations as may reason-
ably be necessary and proper to exercise the power and effect
the objects herein specified, the words "Sewerage System" as
used in this and succeeding sections to be taken to embrace all
