770 LAWS or MARYLAND. [CH. 340

19 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "St.
Mary's County," sub-title "County Commissioners/' to be
known as Section 31B, to follow immediately after Section
31A of said Article, and to read as follows:

31B. Before any deed for the conveyance of real estate in

St. Mary's County shall be received for record bv the Clerk of

the Circuit Court thereof, the person offering said deed for
record shall submit the same to the Clerk to the County Com-
missioners of said County, who shall thereupon make transfer
on the County Assessment Books of the said property to the
name of the grantee or grantees named in said deed, and as
evidence of said transfer, shall stamp upon the deed his cer-
tificate thereof, and no deed shall be received for record with-
out said certificate. At the time of submitting the deed to the
Clerk of the County Commissioners the person or persons offer-
ing the same shall furnish said clerk with a statement of the
buildings, if any, upon the land conveyed by said deed, and
the price paid for the property. If any deed is presented to
the Clerk of the Circuit Court which has not said certificate
attached or stamped thereon, it shall be the duty of the clerk to
the said court to present said deed to the Clerk of the County
Commissioners to have it certified before recording same. All
acts or parts of acts inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1922.

CHAPTER 340.

AN ACT to repeal Section 182B of the Public General Laws of
Maryland, entitled "Elections," sub-title "Primary Elec-
tions," providing for the party nomination of candidates for
County Commissioners in Anne Arundel County, as the
same was enacted by Chapter 114 of the Acts of 1920.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 182B of the Public General Laws of Mary-
land, entitled "Elections," sub-title "Primary Elections," pro-
viding for the party nomination of candidates for County Com-
missioners in Anne Arundel County, as the same was enacted
by Chapter 114 of the Acts of 1920, be and the is hereby re-
pealed.
