CHAPTER 341.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 17A
of Article 23 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land, title ''Wicomoico Comity,'' sub-title "County Commis-
sioners," as said section was enacted by Chapter 280 of
the Acts of 1904, relating to the appointment and compen-
sation of the Counsel to the County Commissioners of Wi-
comico County.
SECTION 1. Se it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 1TA of Article 23 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title ''Wicomico County," sub-title
"County Commissioners," as said section was enacted by Chap-
ter 280 of the Acts of 1904, be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted with amendments, to read as follows:
17A. The said Commissioners shall have power to appoint a
counsel, who shall appear in and prosecute or defend all cases,
civil or criminal, where said county is interested as plaintiff or
defendant, who shall advise the County Commissioners when
requested, on all questions of law where the county is concerned,
and assist them in all legal inquiries and investigations, and
who shall receive an annual salary not exceeding four hundred
dollars, payable monthly, during the time of his service, or pro-
portionate part thereof, and the payment thereof shall be pro-
vided for in the annual levy in each and every year, and paid
in the same manner as other indebtedness of said county is paid,
and the said County Commissioners may fill any vacancy caused
by resignation, death or otherwise, and may discharge and ap-
point a new counsel at its discretion.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1922.

CHAPTER 342.
AN ACT to authorize and empower the Police Commissioner of
Baltimore City to reinstate Edward C. Donnelly, Jr., as a
member of the police force of said city.
WHEREAS, Edward C. Donnelly, Jr., was a member of the
police force of Baltimore City from January 1, 1917, to
