was codified by Chapter 680 of the Acts of 1916, said new
section to be known as section 306A, to follow immediately
after section 306 of said Article, and to read as follows:

306A. A copy of every deed for the conveyance of real
estate in the City of Havre de Grace shall be filed with the
Mayor and City Council of said city, and no deed for the con-
veyance of real estate in said city shall be received for record
by the clerk of the Circuit Court for Harford County unless
there is attached to said deed an affidavit stating that a copy of
said deed has been filed with the Mayor and City Council of
Havre de Grace as required by this section.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, This Act is an Emer-
gency Act and is necessary for the immediate safety and pre-
servation of the people, and three-fifths of the members of both
houses of the Legislature having concurred therein shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 313.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 13 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "Harford County", sub-title
"Havre de Grace", said new section to be known as Sec-
tion 358A and to follow immediately after Section 358 of
said Article, authorizing the Mayor and City Council of
Havre de Grace to provide for the inspection of weights
and measures and for the appointment of an Inspector of
"Weights and Measures.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to article
13 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Har-
ford Couunty", sub-title "Havre de Grace", said new section
to be known as section 358A, to follow immediately after section
358 of said Article, and to read as follows.

358A. The Mayor and City Council of Havre de Grace shall
have the power to provide by ordinance for the appointment of
an Inspector of "Weights and Measures to inspect all the weights
and measures used in said City for the sale of goods, wares and
