and the further sum of $1,000.00 per annum for his services in
connection with his duties appertaining to the special taxing
areas, Alms House, and the several special, funds, levies and
records appertaining to same, payable monthly, and no other
compensation or commission. Before entering upon the duties
of his office he shall execute a bond to the State of Maryland,
to be approved by the County Commissioners, in the penalty of
ten thousand dollars, conditioned for the true and faithful per-
formance of the duties of his office, said bond to be recorded in
the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Montgomery
County.
Said clerk may, in the discretion of the County Commission-
ers, be allowed an assistant or assistants at a salary not to ex-
ceed $1500.00 per annum for each of said assistants, said as-
sistant or assistants to be bonded in the sum of $500.00.
All vacancies in the office of clerk shall be filled by the
County Commissioners.
He shall give his personal attendance at and keep open the
office of County Commissioners during business hours on every
week day excepting legal holidays. He shall have charge of
all records, books, etc., belonging to the office of the County
Commissioners, and shall not allow any of them to be removed
or taken from said office, except in obedience of a summons or
order of a court of law or equity of this State, and shall de-
liver same to his successor, and shall perform such other duties
as are authorized or directed by the County Commissioners,
not inconsistent with law.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the 30th day of June, A. D. 1922.

CHAPTER 269.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 127
of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, title
"Elections," sub-title "Miscellaneous Provisions," as said
section was amended by Chapter 58 of the Acts of 1920,
authorizing the Supervisors of Elections of Garrett County
to establish additional election precincts or districts when
deemed expedient.
