be spent by said State Roads Commission for the repairing and
re-surfacing of any road or roads accepted under and by the
provisions of this Act, providing that the amount of money
paid to said State Roads Commission shall not exceed the sum
of sixty thousand dollars, and provided further that upon the
acceptance by the State Roads Commission of the sum of three
thousand dollars for each mile of stone road accepted as afore-
said shall thereafter be kept and maintained by said Commis-
sion as a part of the State's System of Highway and the County
Commissioners are relieved of the further maintenance of
same.

SEC. 2, And be it further enacted, That for the pur-
pose aforesaid the said County Commissioners of said coun-
ty are hereby authorized, empowered and directed to borrow
said sum of money, and to secure said sum of money the
said County Commissioners are further authorized and em-
powered to issue bonds of said county for the sum of sixty
thousand dollars, in such denominations and for such pe-
riod as said County Commissioners may deem expedi-
ent, the said bonds to be issued in series maturing as said
County Commissioners shall determine, and bear interest not
exceeding five per centum per annum from date, all of which
bonds shall be exempt from county and municipal taxation in
said county, and for the purpose of paying such bonds as they
mature, the said County Commissioners are hereby directed to
levy in each and every year upon the assessable property of
said county, to be collected as other taxes are now or as may
be directed by any general or special law for the collection of
county taxes, such sum as shall be sufficient to pay the interest
on such bonds as may then remain unpaid; and also the prin-
cipal of such bonds as may mature within the fiscal year for
which the levy is made.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the County Com-
missioners are hereby authorized and empowered to expend any
money levied for the fiscal years 1922 and 1923, for road pur-
poses exclusive of the levy for dirt roads, for the purpose of
repairing and re-surfacing any additional stone roads to be ac-
cepted by the State Roads Commission at the rate of three
thousand dollars a mile, this amount being in addition to
amount of money being provided for in said bond issue. That
upon the acceptance of any stone road or roads by the State
Roads Commission under the provisions of this section, the
said County Commissioners shall pay to said Commission a
