thirty thousand dollars ($30, 000. 00) for the payment of the
work and materials already done and used, and for the purpose
of building and repairing the public roads of said county. The
payment of money so borrowed to be secured by the note or
or notes of said county Commissioners, and to be signed by the
President of said County Commissioners and countersigned by
the Treasurer of Wicomico County, and bear interest from date
of same, said notes to be paid out of the levy to be made in the
year 1922.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the said County
Commissioners are hereby empowered and directed to levy upon
the assessable property of said county in the levy to be made in
the year 1022, a sufficient sum of money to pay the note or
notes so issued and the interest thereon, same to be collected
as other taxes are now collected in said county.
SEC. 3. And he it further enacted, That this is an emer-
gency law, necessary for the health and safety of the citizens
of Wicomico County, on account of the dangerous condition of
the public roads therein and three-fifths of the members of
the General Assembly concurring therein, shall take effect from
the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 25.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 189A
of Article 13 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
title "Harford County, " sub-title "County Commissioners. "
as said section was amended by Chapter 42 of the Acts of
1920, relating to the salaries of the County Commissioners
of said county.
SECTION 1. Be if enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 189A of Article 13 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "Harford County, " sub-title
"County Commissioners, " as said section was amended by
Chapter 42 of the Acts of 1920, be and the same is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted with amendments to read as follows:
189A. The Board of County Commissioners of Harford
County shall each receive five dollars ($5. 00) per day for each
day they shall be engaged in the discharge of their duties from
the first day of January, 1922; in addition to the mileage
now allowed by law.
