SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all laws or parts of
laws, and all Acts or parts of Acts of the General Assembly of
Maryland inconsistent with the provisions of this Act be and
the game are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsist-
ency.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1922.

Approved March 14th, 1022.

CHAPTER 26.

AN ACT to require transfers of real estate on the city assess-
ment books of the City of Salisbury, in Wicomico County
and State of Maryland, before deeds conveying real estate
or chattels real, located within the corporate limits of the
City of Salisbury, are recorded among the Land Records
of said Wicomico County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That no deed or deeds conveying real estate or chattels
real, situated or located within the corporate limits of the City
of Salisbury, in Wicomico County, Maryland, shall be admit-
ted to record among the Land Records of the Circuit Court
for said county until the property thereby conveyed or assigned
has been duly transferred upon the city assessment books in
the office of the Mayor and Council of Salisbury to the gran-
tee or assignee named in such deed, unless such a description
thereof be furnished, under oath, to the Clerk of the Circuit
Court of said county as will enable the Clerk of Salisbury to

transfer the same properly and intelligently upon said assess-
ment books.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That if the transfer
be made upon said assessment books before such deed is offered
for record, the Clerk of Salisbury shall certify the fact of said
transfer upon the deed; and if said deed be offered for record
without such endorsement, the Clerk of the Circuit Court be-
fore accepting the same for record shall require one of the par-
ties thereto, or some other person having personal knowledge
of the facts, to state, under oath, in whose name the property
transferred stands upon the city assessment books, a descrip-
