SEC. 9. And be it further enacted as aforesaid, That this
Act shall take effect June 1, 1922.

Approved April 13th, 1922.

CHAPTER 126.

AN ACT authorizing, empowering and directing The County
Commissioners for Dorchester County, in The State of
Maryland, to issue coupon bonds to the amount of two
hundred thousand dollars, ($200, 000. 00) for the purpose
of paying the floating indebtedness of Dorchester County,
and to purchase road building equipment, and to levy and
collect taxes in said County, for the payment of said bonds
and interest thereon.

WHEREAS, by an Act of the General Assembly of Maryland,
Chapter 103, of the Acts of 1916, The County Commissioners
for Dorchester County, was authorized to issue bonds for the
sum of one hundred twenty thousand dollars, ($120, 000. 00)
for the purpose of paying the floating indebtedness of Dor-
chester County, but, whereas, after exhausting the said sum
of one hundred twenty thousand dollars, ($120, 000. 00) in pay-
ing the said floating indebtedness, there still remained a float-
ing indebtedness of about thirty-five thousand dollars, ($35, -
000. 00), and whereas, the said, The County Commissioners,
have since incurred obligations and become indebted in various
sums of money, for the payment of which there have been
deficiencies in revenue and the said deficiencies in revenue have
been carried over from year to year and have accumulated to
a sum of approximately one hundred seventy-five thousand
dollars, ($175, 000. 00), and whereas the said, The County Com-
missioners desire to inaugurate a different and more efficient
system of finance for Dorchester County, and to purchase an
adequate equipment for building and repairing the roads and
bridges in said County, and in order to do so, it is necessary
to liquidate the floating indebtedness of said County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That The County Commissioners for Dorchester County,
in the State of Maryland, be, and they are hereby authorized,
empowered and directed to issue coupon bonds to the amount
of two hundred thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may
be necessary for the purpose of paying and liquidating the
floating indebtedness of Dorchester County.
