ing of which, the clerk shall receive such fee as he shall deter-
mine to be fair and reasonable.
SEC. 3. Every plat or plan of any sub-division of land into
streets, avenues, alleys, lots and blocks shall be prepared upon
paper or cloth of such size and character, with such notations,
information and markings as the Washington Suburban Sani-
tary Commission may, by rule, prescribe and every sub-divi-
sion of land as above set forth, shall have such permanent
markers, bound stones or stations as the said Commission shall
by general or special rule prescribe of which shall be shown and
designated on the plat thereof. The said Commission and the
County Surveyor of the county wherein the land lies shall be
furnished with copies of said plat when approved.
SEC. 4. The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commissioner
shall proceed when, and as, practicable to survey and plan a gen-
eral and permanent system of highways, streets, roads, avenues,
alleys and drives within the district under their jurisdictions,
without authority, however, to change the location or to relo-
cate any county or state road, and every sub division of land as
heretofore defined within the sanitary district shall conform,
as nearly as may by said Commission be deemed practicable,
to said general and permanent plan. The said Commission is
authorized to require to be preserved on any plat a continuity
of width, name, parking, building line with relation to its
general plan.
SEC. 5. The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission
shall have the authority to establish grades for all streets, roads
and sidewalks within the sanitary district, except state high-
ways, county roads and streets, alleys and sidewalks within any
incorporated town and as to county roads and streets and alleys
within incorporated towns any grade established by the authori-
ties having control over said streets, alleys and road shall be
submitted to said Commission for its approval, and until ap-
proved or until such grade is established by said Commission,
as the case may be, no grading of a permanent nature shall be
made.
SEC. 6. The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission
may, at the request of any incorporated town within the sani-
tary district, remap said incorporated town, preserving all
present lot and block, street, alley or property lines by num-
bering all squares or blocks consecutively, and when such map
is made, approved by the municipal authorities and recorded,
