SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage, it being hereby declared
to be an emergency law and necessary to the immediate pres-
ervation of the public health and safety.

Approved March 21st, 1922.

CHAPTER 118.

AN ACT to repeal Sections 399, 400 and 401 of Chapter 790
of the Acts of 1912, and Sections 143, 154, 155 and 156 of
the Code of Local Laws of Prince George's County (Duckett
and Claggett's Code) relating to plats of sub-divisions of
land and the recording thereof in Montgomery and Prince
George's Counties in so far as said sections relate to plats of
sub-divisions within the Washington Suburban Sanitary
District, and to enact in lieu thereof a general law for said
Montgomery and Prince George's Counties providing for
the preparation, approval and recording of plats in said
counties and the control of building lines, street lines, grade
lines and parking within the Washington Suburban Sani-
tary District of said counties, to provide for planning a gen-
eral system of streets, parks, grades and building lines within
said district and to provide for the expense thereof.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-ry-
land, That Sections 399, 400 and 401 of Chapter 790 of the
Acts of 1912, and any amendments thereof, and Sections 153,
154, 155 and 156 of the Code of Public Local Laws for Prince
George's County as codified by Duckett and Claggett, and
any amendments thereof, in so far as they relate to sub-divisions

of lands within the Washington Suburban Sanitary District,
be and the same are hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. That no plat or plan of any sub-division of land
into streets, avenues, alleys, lots and blocks in Montgomery
and Prince George's Counties, within the Washington Sub-
urban Sanitary District, shall be admitted to the Land Rec-
ords of either of said counties, or received or recorded by
the clerks of the courts of said counties until the said plat or
plan has been approved in writing by the Washington Suburban
Sanitary Commission. When so received every such plat shall
be firmly fixed in a well bound book to be kept by the Clerk of
the court for the purpose of recording plats and for the record-
