115 of the Acts of 1918, be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted with amendments, to read as follows:
216. The State's Attorney for Garrett County shall re-
ceive an annual salary of eighteen hundred dollars, which
salary shall be paid to him by the County Commissioners of
said county, payable quarterly by warrant on the County
Treasurer, and it shall be unlawful for him to receive or the
said County Commissioners to pay him any other or further
compensation, salary, fee or recompense of any kind, except
the necessary expenses incident to said office, including sta-
tionery, postage and necessary traveling expenses incurred in
performing the several duties of said office. It shall also be
the duty of said State's Attorney to act as attorney and counsel
for the County Commissioners and the County Board of Edu-
cation of said county without any additional compensation.
It shall be the duty of the Sheriff of said county to collect and
pay over to said county any appearance or other fee taxed as
part of the costs payable to the State's Attorney in any crimi-
nal case.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted., That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1922.

CHAPTER 93.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 604
of Offutt's Code of Public Local Laws of Baltimore County
(Edition of 1916), sub-title "Sheriff, " increasing the allow-
ance for office expenses of the sheriff of said county.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 604 of Offutt's Code of Public Local Laws
of Baltimore County (Edition of 1916), sub-title "Sheriff, "
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments,
to read as follows:
604. The Sheriff of Baltimore County shall receive an an-
nual salary of three thousand dollars ($3, 000), to be paid to
him in monthly instalments of two hundred and fifty dollars
($250) by the County Commissioners of Baltimore County,
and he shall be allowed the sum of seven thousand dollars
($7, 000), annually to be paid to him by the said County Com-
