manner as the returns on constitutional amendments. If a
majority of votes cast upon the question shall be against the
Soldiers' Bonus, then this Act shall be null and void and of
no effect whatever; but if a majority of the votes cast upon the
question shall be in favor of the Soldiers' Bonus, then all the
provisions of this Act shall become effective as herein provided.
SEC. 30. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1922.

CHAPTER 449.
AN ACT to exempt from taxation the real and personal prop-
erty of the Groome Settlement School in Prince George's
County, Maryland, so long as it is used for school purposes.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the real and personal property of the Croome Set-
tlement School in Prince George's County shall be exempt from
all county and municipal taxation; provided, however, -that
the said property shall only be exempt from such taxation so
long as it is used for school purposes.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1922.

CHAPTER 450.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 26
of the Charter of the town of Betterton, as said section
was amended by Chapter 414 of the Acts of 1920, direct-
ing the County Commissioners of Kent County to pay a
certain sum of money to the town of Betterton for road
purposes.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 26 of the Charter of the town of Betterton,
as said section was amended by Chapter 414 of the Acts of
1920. be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amend-
ments, to read as follows:
