1785.
During the congress which met in Novem-
ber, 17«5, and continued in session until No-
vember, 1786, James McHenry, Mr. Ktnder-
son, Mr. Harrison, John Henry and Nathaniel
Ramsay, appeared as members.
On the 2d Monday in December, 1786, Wil-
liam Harrison, William Hindman, Uriah For-
rest, David Ross and Nathaniel Ramsay, were
chosen delegates to congress for one year, by
the legislature of Maryland.
In the congress of 1788, John Eager Howard
B. Contee, Mr. Seney and Mr. Ross, attend-
ed as delegates from Maryland.
CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION.
By an net passed by the general assembly of
Maryland, on the 26th May, 1787, "James
McHenry, Daniel of St. Thomas Jenifer, Dan-
iel Carroll, John Francis Mercer and Luther
Martin, esq. were appointed on behalf of the
state of Maryland, to meet such dq uties as may
be appointed and authorised by any other of
the United States, to assemble in convention at
Philadelphia for the purpose of revising the
federal system, and to join with them in consid-
ering auch alterations and further provisions
as may be necessary to under the fede-
ral constitution adequate to the exigencies of
the union ; and in reporting such an act for that
