And to the Intent that the Inhabitants of this Province may
not be abused by haveing there goods & Provissions Prest from y.u
by loose & idle fellows who many times abuse there Comm.ions
and the People Bee it Enacted by the authority aforesaid y.t
from henceforth The Comm.ers of Each respective Countyes shall yearly
and Every yeare (viz) betweene the Nine & Twentieth Day of
September and the five and Twentieth Day of December
Nominate and appointe Two honest & substantiall men of
theire countys for Every hundred to be Prest Masters for the
Yeare Ensewing and if any one Die or departe the county or
be lame or sick within that time that then the next Justice
of the Peace to Nominate and appoint another in his stead
that if occasion req they and none Elce shall Impress
victualls or other things given them in charge to be prest by
warr.t from y.e Lord Prop.ry his heirs or successors or his or there
L.tt Gen.ll and Govern.r for the time being and if any other but
such Prest Masters soe appointed shall presume upper prettence
of any Power as a Prest Master to seize take press or carry
away any goods or Comodities of any of the Inhabitants of this
Province shall pay to the person greived treble the vallue of such
goods soe as aforesaid unjustly Pressed Provided that No Prest master
nor any other person or persons whatsoever shall presume at
any time to take seize press or carry away from any Inhabitant
Resident in this Province any armes or amunition of any
kind whatsoever upon any Duty or service uppon any accompt
whatsoever under the Penalty aforesaid any Law statute or usage
to the contrary hereof in any wise Notwithstanding and Bee it
Likewise further Enacted by the authority advice and consent
aforesaid that the Comm.rs of any respective County courts
within this Province who shall not Betweene the Nine and
Twentieth Day of September and the said five and Twentieth
Day of December in Each Respective yeare by Precept from
the County Court signed by the Clrk of the court Nominate
and appoint such and soe many Prest Masters for Every hundred
within there County as aforesaid shall Each of them forfeit & pay
unto the R.t Honoble the Lord Prop.ry the summe of five hundred
