And that Every Coll of Horse have Three & Twenty
hundred pds of Tobaccoe p Month and that a Major
of horse have Fiften hundred pds of Tobaccoe p Month
and a Capt of horse be allowed Thirten hundred pds
of Tobaccoe p Month To a Left of horse one thousand
pds of Tobaccoe p Month To a Cornett Nine hundred
pds of Tobaccoe p Month To a Quarter Master & Corp.ll
Each seven hundred pds of Tobaccoe p Month To a
Trumpeter seven hundred pds of Tobaccoe p Month
And to Every Privat Trooper six hundred pds of Tobaccoe
p Month and that all these rates & allowances for
such officers & souldiers aforesaid shalbe allowed and payd
and Noe More and that the Months before Mentioned
be accounted computed and reconed according to the Callender
and Not otherwise and to the Intent that whensoever
it shall appeare to the Lord Prop.ry or his L.tt Gen.ll or chief
govern.r or his said L.tt Gen.ll or chief govern.r & Councell
to be Necessary to raise forces for the suppression of any
forraigne Invasion or any Domestick Insurrection or
Rebellion or any warr with any Indians that the said
officers & souldiers may be duely payd according to the
proportions aforesd and all other Necessary charges & Expence
for the charge and Managing such warr may be duely payd
and Discharged without which this Province canot be Defended
and secured Bee it Enacted By the R.t honble the Lord
Prop.ry by and with the advice & Consent of the upper & Lower
housses of This psent Gen.ll Assembly & the authority of the
same that from hencforth all such Necessary charges of such
Warr & Souldiers Pay as aforesaid shall be payd Discharged & Defrayd
by a Publick Leavy by an Equall Assesment uppon the Taxables
of this Province by consent of the fre[e]men of this Province
by there Representatives and in A Gen.ll Assembly & not otherwise
