Command was given to the sheerif of Kent County the 25.th day
of November Anno Dom 1697 that he take Robert Norrest
if he should be found in his Bailiwick soe that he have his
Body before his Maj.ties Justices att the next Court to Answer
unto Christopher Denny of a plea of Trespasse upon the case

Att which Court viz the 15.th day of February being by adjournm.t
the day of returne of sd Writt came Cap.t Edward Sweatnam high
sheerif of sd County and made returne of said Writt in these
words viz   Cepi p Edw Sweatnam sheft

On which said day the said Robert Norrest in his proper
person appeares and prayes therof to Imparle until next Court
which was granted the same day is given to the plt likewise

Which said cause being continued from Court to Court until
this present day and now standing for Tryal came the sd plt
by Michael Eare his Attorney as allsoe the Defend.t by Matt
Warde his Attorney and the plt declares viz

Kent fs  Robert Norrest of sd County Carpenter stands Attached to Answer
unto Christopher Denny of Talbot County of a plea of Trespasse
upon the case

And whereupon the sd Christopher by Michael Earle his Attorney
Complaineth that and saith that the sd Robert Keepeing a Fulling Milne [mill]
to thicken cloath for the Inhabitants of this Province and other persons
for w.ch he demands and hath reasonable sattisfaction the Twentieth
day of October Anno Dom 1697 in said County within the Jurisdicon
of this Court he the said Xtopher delivered unto the said Rob.t
one peice of gray Kersey containing Twelve Yds and one halfe
sound and in good Condicon to be put into the Fulling Milne of him
the said Robert to be Thickned according to the Custom in such cases
In consideracon of which the sd Robert upon himselfe assumed and
to the sd Xtopher faithfully promised that he the sd Robert would
well and truely thicken the said peice of cloth aforesd and then
