October y.e 19.th 1697 Kent fs Then came Richard Macklin in his pper person and Informed ag.t Isaac Caulk of Kent County Inholder for that he the sd Isaac contrary to an Act of Assembly made the 8.th day of May Anno Dom 1695 att an Assembly held att the port of Annapolis for this Province of Maryland Entitled an Act for regulateing Ordinaries and limiting the Number of them within this Province hath Kept an Ordinary att his house on the North side of Chester River within this County One whole Month without Lycence first had and obtained and prayes that processe may goe out ag.t y.e sd Isaac to cause him to Answer the sd Richard Macklin who followes as well for our soveraigne Lord the King as for himselfe att the next Court to be Holden for Kent County Command was therfore given to the sheerif of Kent County that he cause the sd Isaac Caulk to be found in his Bailiwick soe that he be and appeare before his Maj.ties att the next Court to Answer unto Richard Macklin who as well &c.a Att which Court viz the 23.th day of November Anno Dom 1697 the day of returne of sd Writt came Capt Edward Sweatnam high sheerif of sd County and made returne of sd Writt in these words Cepi Edw Sweatnam sheft On which said day the said Defend.t by Michael Earle his Att.ry comes and Appeares and prayes therof to Imparle w.ch therunto the same day is given to the plt likewise |
