Command was given to the sheerif of Kent County y.e 25.th day of January Anno Dom 1697 that he take John Nayland if he should be found in his Bailiwick and him safe Keepe soe that he have his Body before his Maj.ties Justices all the next Court to Answer unto Robert Norrest of a plea of Trespasse upon the case Att which Court viz the 15.th day of Feb.ry Anno Dom 1697 the day of returne of sd Writt came Cap.t Edward Sweatnam high sheerif of sd County and made returne of sd Writt in these words Cepi p Edw Sweatnam sheft On which sd day came the sd Defd.t in his proper person and appeares and prayes therof to Imparle until the next Court which was granted the same day is given to the plt likewise And now here att this day the sd cause standing for Tryal came the sd plt by Richard Macklin his Att.ry and declar viz Kent fs John Nailand of sd County planter stands Attached to Answer unto Robert Norrest of a plea of Trespasse upon the Case &c.a And Whereupon the sd Robert by Richard Macklin his Att.ry complaineth that whereas the sd John 10th day of October Anno Dom 1696 in sd county within the Jurisdicon of this Court |
