795 It is Therfore Ordered by this Court that the sheerif take the said Sarah Hall into his Custody and lead her to serve convenient place and give her Fifteene lashes well laid on her bare back warr.t according to the above order Issued to the sheerif Simon Wilmer Clk Ann Burton being sum by Order of this Court now appeares and being Taxed for Teareing a Hue and Cry she submits her selfe to the Court and it appearing to this Court that what she Offered therin was Childishly and Ignorantly donn and promiseing she would not concerne her selfe in any such like Accon it is therfore Ordered that she be discharged Simon Wilmer Clk Command was given the Coroner of Kent County the 26.th day of March Anno Dom 1697 that he take Edward Sweatnam if he should be found in his Bailiwick and him safe Keepe soe that he have his Body before his Maj.ties Justices att the Next Court to Answer unto Perigrine Browne and Comp.a &c.a Att which Court viz the 22.th day of June Anno Dom 1697 the day of returne of sd Writt came Maj.r Thomas Smith Coroner of sd County and made returne of sd Writt in these Words viz Cepi Corpus p Tho Smyth Coroner On which day came the sd Cap.t Edward Sweatnam in his proper person and prayes therof to Imparle until then on Court was granted the same day is given to the Plt likewise Which said cause being continued from Court to Court until this p.rsent day And now here att this day viz the 28.th day of September Anno Dom 1697 came as well the said Perigrine Browne Plt by William Hemsley his Attorney as allsoe Cap.t Edward Sweatnam Defend.t by Richard Macklin his Attorney and the sd cause standing for Tryal |
