The said John 2400.ll of the like quallified Tobaccoe and therupon
he brings this suit

of said Bill for Four hundred and Twelve poundes of Tobaccoe

doe Recover from the Defend.t Thomas Collins the sume of
seaven hundred Eighty and Eight poundes of Tobaccoe as allsoe
the sume of Two hundred Twenty and Three poundes of Tobaccoe
cost of suit

found in his Bailiwick and him safe Keepe soe that he have his

Hemsley of a plea of Trespasse upon the case

Att which Court viz the 22.th day of June Anno Dom 1697 the day
of Returne of sd Writt came Cap.t Edward Sweatnam high sheerif of
said County and made Returne of sd Writt in these wordes viz Cepi p
me Edw Sweatnam sheft

On which day came the said Rennatus Smith by Richard Macklin
his Attorney and prayes therof to imparle until the next Court the
which was Granted the same day is Given to the plt allsoe

And now here att this day viz the 25.th day of August Anno Dom
1697 came as well the said Plt in his proper person as allsoe the sd
Defend.t by Richard Macklin his Attorney and the said cause
standing for Tryal Declr is Read viz
