And the sd John Offley by Michael Earle his Attorney comes
into Court and confesseth Judgm.t for the said sume of 8181.ll of
Tobaccoe

Therfore it is considered by this Court that Plant James
Smith doe Recover from the Defend.t John Offley as well the sd
sume sume of Eight Thowsand One hundred Eighty and One
poundes of Tobaccoe as allsoe the sume of Two hundred Eighty
and One poundes of Tobaccoe cost of suit

M.rcht if he should be found in his Bailiwick and him safe
Keepe soe that he have his Body before his Maj.ties Justices att the
Next Courts to Answer unto Phillip Holeag.r of a plea of the case

Att which Court viz the the 23.th day of March the day of the
returne of the first Writt as allsoe on the 22.th day of June y.e day
of Returne of the second Writt came Capt Edward Sweatnam high
sheerif of said County and made Returne of sd Writts in these words
following Words viz on the First Non Est inventus Edw Sweatnam
sheft on the second the within Named Perigrine Browne not to be
found in my Bailiwick

And the said Phillip Holeager by Richard Macklin his Att.ry declr viz

Attached to Answer unto Phillip Holeager of a plea of y.e Case
And Whereupon the said Phillip by Richard Macklin his Att.ry complaineth
that whereas the said Perigrine att Sassifrax River within the
Jurisdicon of this Court on the 16.th day of Ap.ll Anno Dom 1686 as by
his Noate under the hand of him the said Perigrine here in Court brought
appeareth did sell unto him the said Phillip or his Assignes for &
dureing the full time and Tearme of seaven Yeares from his the said
Henries first Arrival in Maryland but the sd Henry Read already
makeing his Application to the Justices of Cæcil County Court Judicially
being in Court was by order of Court sett Free att the Expiracon of
