755 Ordered by this Court that Cap.t Edward Sweatnam procure the Court house to be plaistered and Provide Pillory and stocks with all convenient speede William Rodgers being by this Court bound as an apprentice unto William Jones shoemaker the 28.th day of August Anno Dom 1695 and the said W.m Jones Dying in Jan.ry last the said W.m Rodgers absents himselfe from the Widdow of the said Jones and now Peticons this Court for his Clothes and Working Gerre as by the said order when bound was contracted for Ordered by this Court that the said W.m Rodgers have nothing out of the Estate of the said William Jones as p his Peticon he hath prayed for by Reason of his absenting himselfe out of the said Widdow her service Simon Wilmer Clk William Ford and Elizabeth Laycock being by the Grand Jury in march last p.rsented for liveing Togeather in Adultery as by common Fame Command was therfore given to the sheerif of Kent County the 26.th day of March Anno Dom 1696 that he take William Ford and Elizabeth Laycock if they should be found in his Bailiwick soe that he cause them to be and appeare before his Maj.ties Justices att the Next Court to Answer &c.a Att which Court viz the 22.th day of June Anno Dom 1697 the day of Returne of said Writt came Cap.t Edward Sweatnam high sheerif of sd County and made returne of sd Writt in these following Words viz the Within W.m Ford I have Taken but the within Named Eliz.a Laycock not to be found in my Bailiwick Edw Sweatnam sheft |
