him the sd John Chase from the sume of Eight hundred and
sixty poundes of Tobaccoe aforsd and farther in fact saith that
he did accept of the sd Thomas as paymaster for the sd Debt of
800.ll Tob yett Neverthelesse the sd Thomas his promise and assumption
aforesd in n case regarding but plotting and contriveing
him the sd simon in that behalfe craftily to deceive & defraud
the sd sume of 800.ll of Tob unto the said Simon he hath not
paid altho he the sd Thomas by him the sd Simon to doe the same
on the Tenth day of June Anno Dom 1696 at Chester River in sd
County within the Jurisdicon of this Court hath therunto been
often required but the same to pay he hath denied and refused
to the damage of the sd Simon sixteene hundred poundes of
Tob and therupon he brings this suit
