Followeth

Kent fs     Thomas Collins of Kent County Gent stands Attached to
                answer unto William Hemsley one of the Att.rnies of this
                Court according to the liberties and priviledges accustomed of
                a plea of Trespasse upon the case

And wherupon the said William Hemsley in proper person Complaineth
that whereas the said Thomas the 17.th day of September Anno Dom
1695 in sd County within the Jurisdicon of this Court stood
Justly indebted to the sd W.m the full and just sume of seaventeene
hundred poundes of Tobaccoe p acc.t the pticulers therof and here
in Court brose in consideracon therof the sd Thomas upon himselfe
assumed and to the sd William faithfully promised that he the sd
Thomas the sd sume of 1700.ll Tobaccoe unto the sd William Hemsley
would well and truely pay when therunto required Yett Neverthelesse
the sd Thomas the said sume of 1700.ll Tobaccoe according
to his promise and Assumption ^aforsd^ unto the said William he hath not
paid alltho often required but the same to pay he hath denied and
refused to the damage of the said William 3000.ll of Tobaccoe and
therupon he brings this suit propria psona pledg &c.a Jn.o Doe
