503 (256) John Trenary being presented by the grand ^Jury^ and being called to answer the said presentment which is as followeth Kent fs The Jurors for our soveraigne Lord and Lady King William and Queene Mary upon theire Oathes doe present John Trenary of Kent Island in the Jurisdiction of this Court Planter by common fame that he the said John to witt the Tenth day of september last past he the said John the house of one Thomas Baxter on Kent Island aforesaid did enter and there did feloniously take and beare away one silk handkerchiff to the value of Two shillings and six pence sterl being of the proper estate of the said Thomas Baxter contrary to their Maj.ties peace and the Lawes in such cases made and provided Earickson p.r Dom R & R To which p.rsentm.t the said John Trenary pleaded not guilty and for Tryall put himselfe upon God and the Country which Country are as followeth
The Jurors as above being duely swore and the presentm.t being againe read to which y.e said Trenary pleaded not guilty as before and the Issue being Joyned but no substantial proofe appearing to the Court and Jury who without goeing from the Bar and being againe called according to theire respective Names above and Trenary likewise y.e Cours demands of the Jury wether the said Trenary be guilty of the said p.rsentment to which they by theire Foreman answer not guilty Simon Wilmer Clk |
