This Indenture made y.e 16.th day of may in ^y.e^ yeare of y.e dominion of y.e Right
Honorable Charles Lord and Propriettarie of y.e Provinces of Maryland and
Avalon Lord Barron of Baltemore &c and y.e yeare of our Lord one thousand
six Hundred Eighty and seaven Between Charles Whitehead and Sarah
his wife of the County of Ann Arundell of the one partie and William
Hordman of the same County Planter of y.e other partie wittneseth that y.e saide
Charles Whitehead and Sarah his wife for and in Consideration of y.e sum of
Five thousand pounds of good tobacco to him or them in hand att and
before the ensealing and delivering of thes p.rsents by the said William Foreman
well and truly paid the receipt whereof y.e said Charles Whitehead and Sarah
his wife doe hereby acknoledg them selfes fully sattisfied and paid and thereof
and by every part and pcell therof both Cleerly acquire exonerate and discharg
the said William Foreman his heirs & Executors for Ever by these p.rsents
hath given granted alliened Bargained sould Enfeoffed and Confirmed and
by these p.rsents doth fully Cleerly and absolutly give grant bargain sell &
Enfeeof and confirme unto the said William Foreman his heirs and Asignes
for ever all that parcell or tract of Land Called the friendship lying in y.e
County of Kent neer the head of a Creeke Called Smith Creeke begining att
A marked Chesnut tree being A boundee tree of the widow Coniers her land
^Called^ ?arble and runing downe the said Creek for bredth South East one hundred
perches to a marked red Oak bounded on y.e reith side of A Creek Called
Cabbin Creek & from said oak for Length by a line drawn south west three
hundred and twenty pearches to y.e Land Called Cabbin rock and the north
west till it intersect with y.e Land of deliverance Louby then North East
to y.e first bounded tree Containing now laid out for two hundred acres
more or less together with all proffits benefits & rights thereunto belonging or in
any wise apartaining att y.e said Land w.th its rights members & apurtenances
whatsoever good on & by these p.rsents mentioned or intended to be granted
and sould lying & being in y.e County of Kent aforesaid and now in possession
of said Charles Whitehead & Sarah his wife & y.e revisions & remainders of
all & singular y.e above mentioned p.rmises & all grants & demises made of the
same or any part part or parcell therof and all y.e Estate Right title Interest Use
possession property Clame & demand whatsoever were given by said Charles
Whitehead and Sarah his wife in or to y.e same or any part or parcell thereof
To have and to hold y.e said land & all & singular other y.e p.rmises herby granted.
bargained & sold w.th their & Every of their rights members and apurtenances
whatsoever unto y.e said William Hordman his heires & Assignes & to y.e only
proper use & behoofe of him y.e said William Hordman his heirs & assignes
for ever And the said Charles Whitehead & Sarah his wife for themselves
their heirs Executors and Administrators doe hereby Covenant promise
grant & agree to and w.th y.e said William Hordman his heirs and assignes
and Every of them by these p.rsents in maner and forme following that is
to lay that hee y.e said Charles Whitehead & Sarah his wife att y.e sealing &
delivery of these p.rsents have in themselves full power good right and
Lawfull authoritie to grant bargain & sell all and singular the before &
hereby granted p.rmises w.th their apurtenances unto y.e said William
Hordman his heirs & assignes in maner and forme aforesaid that hee the
said William Hordman his heirs and assignes shall and may by those
p.rsents from time to time and att all times for Ever hereafter have
hold use ocupie posses and enjoy y.e said land and all and singular the
before granted premises and have Receive and take the rentes dues and
