This Indenture Made the twenty fifth
Day of January in the Tenth Yeare of the
Dominion of Charles Absolute Lord & prop.ry of the
provinces of Maryland & avalon Lord Baron of
Baltemore &c.a Ann.o q.r Dom one thousand six hundred
Eighty five Betweene John Jones of Kent county
in the province of Maryland Razier of the one
parte and Anthony Workman of the county & province
afores.d of the other parte Wittnesseth that the s.d
John Jones for & in concideracon of the sume of two
thousand five hundred pounds of good tobaccoe in caske
to him the s.d John Jones in hand payd at or before
the sealing & Delivering of these presents by the s.d
Anthony Workman well and truly payd the receit
whereof he the s.d John Jones doth hereby acknowledge
himself therewith fully sattisfied and paid and thereof
of owing part & parcell therof doth clearly acquite
and discharge the s.d Anthony Workman his heires
Executors & Adm.rs for Ever by these presents Hath
given granted aliened bargained sold Enfeoffed and
confirmed and by these presents doth fully clearly and
absolutely give grant alien sell Enfeoff & confirme
unto the s.d Anthony Workman his heires & assignes
for Ever all that percell or tract of Land called
Coopers Quarter Lying upon Kent Island at the
head of a Branch called Showells Branch begining
at a Marked red oake and runing for breadth
North & by east fifty perches to a Marked white
oake from the s.d white Oake by a Line drawne
