98 VOTES AND PROCEEDINGS, NOVEMBER SESSION, 1807.

raising a sum of money for repairing St. George's church, on Deer creek, in Harford county, the bill for the re-
lief of Jonathan Edwards and Gilbert Middleton, of the city of Baltimore, the bill to correct a mistake in the
beginning of lot number twenty-two in the town of Vienna, in Dorchester county, the bill relative to writs of
capias ad satisfaciendum, the supplement to the act, entitled, An act to incorporate the charitable marine socie-
ty of Baltimore, and the supplement to the act, entitled, An act for the benefit of Margaretta Chalmers, were
sent to the senate by the clerk.

A petition from Benjamin Clagett, of the city of Baltimore, praying a confirmation of a letter of license in
his favour, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Tabbs, Mr. Bowles and Mr. Schnebly, to consider and re-
port thereon.

A petition from Anthony Bacon, and others, of Worcester county, praying a confirmation of a sale of part of
the real estate of general John Gunby, deceased, to Edward Henry, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr.
Sturgis, Mr. Robins and Mr. Dashiell, to consider and report thereon.

On motion, ORDERED, That the bill to abolish such parts of the constitution and form cf government as re-
late to the time and manner of electing the senate, and the mode of filling up vacancies in that body, have a
second reading on to-morrow.

Mr. T. Dorsey, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, A farther additional supplement
to an act, entitled, An act to incorporate companies to make several turnpike roads through Baltimore county,
and for other purposes; which was read the first time, and, on motion, the question put. That the further con-
sideration of the. same be postponed until the 1st day of June next? The yeas and nays being required, appeared
as follow:

So it was resolved in the affirmative.

The bill to prevent the anchoring of vessels in the fisheries in Susquehanna river, and at the head of Chesa-
peake bay, was read the second time, passed, and with the bill authorising William Moffitt, of Kent county, to
complete his collection, sent to the senate by the clerk.

Mr. Dennis, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act for the preservation of the
navigation of the north-west branch of Nanticoke river, in Dorchester county; which was read the first time
and ordered to lie on the table.

Mr. Henry, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act for the preservation of the
navigation of Cabbin creek, in Dorchester county; which was read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.

Mr. Sturgis, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act for the relief of Edward
Henry, of Worcester county; which was read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.

A petition from Elizabeth Barrow, praying an indulgence in the payment of a balance due by her late husband
to the state, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Henry, Mr. Dennis and Mr. Frazier, to consider and re-
port thereon.

The following order was read.

ORDERED, That the treasurer of the western shore be requested to furnish this house with an account of all
monies at any time heretofore drawn from the treasury, and appropriated for the use of the public buildings be-
longing to the state, and within the city of Annapolis, since the year 1772 inclusive.

And the question was put, That the house assent to the same? Resolved in the affirmative.

ORDERED, That the further additional supplement to an act to erect Baltimore-town, in Baltimore county, in-
to a city, and to incorporate the inhabitants thereof, be recommitted for amendment.

ORDERED, That the counter memorial to said bill be referred to the committee appointed to prepare and bring
in the same.

The further supplementary act to the act, entitled, An act for quieting possessions, enrolling conveyances,
and securing the estates of purchasers, was read the second time and passed.

Mr. Dennis, from the committee, delivers to the speaker the following report:

THE committee to whom was referred the petition of sundry inhabitants of Dorchester county, praying for
a road to be opened through the lands of John C. Henry and Francis J. Henry, infants, under the age of twenty-
one years, beg leave to report, that they have duly considered the same, and are of opinion that the prayer of
said petitioners ought not to be granted, and that they have leave to withdraw their petition.

By order, N. MARTIN, clk.
Which was read the first and second time by especial order and concurred with.

A petition from the New Market fire company in the city and precincts of Baltimore, praying to be incorpo-
rated, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Little, Mr. T. Dorsey and Mr. Steuart, to consider and report
