of both branches of the legislature convene in the hall of the house of delegates to-morrow evening at three
o'clock, to join in procession at his funeral.

By order, J. BREWER, clk.

The following resolution was read the first and second time by especial order, assented to, and sent to the
senate by the clerk.

RESOLVED, That the legislature, in respect to the memory of the late John Gale, deceased, a delegate from
Kent county, who departed this life while attending the discharge of his legislative duties, wear scarfs and bands
during the remainder of the session, and that the funeral expenses be placed on the journal of accounts.

The supplement to an act, entitled, An act compelling the proprietors of lots binding on the water at the west
end of the bason in the city of Baltimore to extend and improve the same, and the bill to confirm a certain
road in Baltimore county, were read the second time, passed, and sent to the senate by the clerk.

The further supplement to the act, entitled, An act authorising Thomas Bailey, late sheriff and collector of
Baltimore county, to complete his collection, and for other purposes, was read the second time by especial order,
passed, and sent to the senate by the clerk.

The bill authorising a lottery for raising a sum of money for building a church in Charles county, was read the
second time by especial order and passed.

The house proceeded to the second reading of the report on the memorial of Jeremiah T. Chase, chief judge
of the third judicial district, and the question was put, That the blank therein be filled up with three hundred
dollars? Determined in the negative.

The question was then put on two hundred dollars? Resolved In the affirmative.

The question was then put, That the resolution therein contained be stricken out? Resolved in the affirmative.

The question was then put, That the following be inserted in lieu thereof? " Resolved, That two hundred
dollars be paid to the chief judge of the third judicial district annually, as a compensation for his services per-
formed, or to be performed, under the said act, to commence from the passage of the act concerning the chan-
cery court, and continue until withdrawn by some future legislature, and that the treasurer of the western shore
pay the same quarterly to the said chief judge, or to his order, out of any unappropriated money in the treasury. "
Determined in the negative.

The question was then put, That the following be inserted in lieu of the words stricken out? " Resolved,
That two hundred dollars be paid to the chief judge of the third judicial district, as a compensation for his ser-
vices performed under the act of 1806, entitled, An act concerning the chancery court, and that the treasurer
of the western shore pay the same to the said chief judge, or to his order, out of any unappropriated money in
the treasury. " Resolved in the affirmative.

The question was then put, That the house concur with the said report, and assent to the resolution therein
contained? Resolved in the affirmative.

On motion, Leave given to bring in a bill, entitled. An act to repeal the second section of the act, entitled,
An act concerning the chancery court. ORDERED, That Mr. Little, Mr. T. Dorsey and Mr. C. Dorsey, be a
committee to prepare and bring in the same.

A petition from the president and managers of the Baltimore and Frederick-town, the Baltimore and Reister's-
town, and the Baltimore and York-town turnpike road companies, praying they may be permitted to deviate from
the bed of the old roads, and that they may be permitted to shut up the old roads, was preferred, read, and refer-
red to Mr. T. Dorsey, Mr. Davis, Mr. Little, Mr. Bowles and Mr. Harryman, to consider and report thereon.

The clerk of the senate delivers the bill to lay out and make public a road in Queen-Anne's county, endorsed
"will pass with the proposed amendments; " which amendments were read. The resolution relative to John
Gale, Esquire's, funeral, endorsed, " assented to. " And a letter from the governor, suggesting the propriety of
increasing his salary; which was read, and the question put, That the same be placed on the journal at length ?

Mr. T. Dorsey, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act to authorise the sale of
the right of Baltimore county to part of a lot of ground in the city of Baltimore; which was read the first time
and ordered to lie on the table.

ORDERED, That the same be printed.
