78 VOTES AND PROCEEDINGS, NOVEMBER SESSION, 1807.

Mr. Stone, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act for the benefit of Catherine
Johnson; which was read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.

Mr. W. H. Brown, from the committee, delivers to the speaker the following report:

THE committee to whom was referred the petition of John Boudy, a disabled soldier in our revolutionary
War, beg leave to report, that they have taken the same into their consideration, and find the facts therein
stated to be true; they therefore submit the following resolution to the consideration of the house.

RESOLVED, That the treasurer of the western shore pay to John Boudy, or order, in quarterly payments, a sum
of money equal to the half pay of a private soldier, as a remuneration for his services in our revolutionary war.

All which is submitted.

Which was read.

A petition from sundry inhabitants of the city of Baltimore, praying an alteration in the charter thereof, was
preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Steuart, Mr. Little, Mr. T. Dorsey, Mr. Mitchell and Mr. Tabbs, to con-
sider and report thereon.

A petition from sundry inhabitants of Harford county, praying commissioners may be appointed to review the
road from the Maryland line, near the Fawn meeting-house in Pennsylvania, leading by John Gladden's and by
Cox's mill to Baltimore city, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Streett, Mr. Davis and Mr.. Ayres, to
consider and report thereon.

A petition from sundry inhabitants of Harford county, praying that a road leading from the Baltimore road
at Mordecai Amos's, passing Mr. Thomas Amos's to the Black House, may be a public highway, was preferred,
read, and referred to Mt. Streett, Mr. Davis and Mr. Ayres, to consider and report thereon.

Mr. Stone, from the committee, delivers to the speaker the following report:

THE committee to whom was referred the petition of Thomas S. Brewer, report, that they have taken the
same into consideration, and are of opinion that the prayer of the said petitioner ought to be granted; therefore

RESOLVED, That the treasurer of the western shore pay to Thomas S. Brewer, late a sergeant in the revolu-
tionary war, or to his order, in half yearly payments, a sum. of money equal to the half pay of a sergeant.

Mr. Frazier, from the committee delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act for the relief of Levin Wool-
ford, of Dorchester county; which was read the first time and ordered to lie on the fable.

Mr. Tabbs, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, A supplement to an act, entitled, An
act for the relief of John Booth, and confirming his title in certain lands therein mentioned; which was read
the first time and ordered to lie on the table.

The speaker laid before the house a letter from Nicholas Brewer, register in chancery, enclosing his account
of seals and taxes; which was read.

Mr. C. Dorsey, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act authorising a lottery for
raising a sum of money for building a church in Charles county; which was read the first time and ordered to
lie on the table.

Mr. Forwood, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act to appoint and authorise
commissioners to review said lay out the road therein mentioned in Harford county; which was read the first
time and ordered to lie on the table.

A petition from Abraham Baker, of Harford county, counter to the petition for a road passing by More's mill
to the Black House, was preferred, read, and referred to the committee appointed on the petition to which it is
counter.

A petition from sundry inhabitants of Baltimore county, praying a law may pass for repairing the Hagar's
town road, leading from Gravel Hill towards Randall's-town, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Little,
Mr. Harryman and Mr. Brown, to consider and report thereon.

On motion, Leave given to bring in a bill, entitled, A. further supplement to the, act, entitled, An act autho-
rising Thomas Bailey, late sheriff and collector of Baltimore county, to complete his collection, and for other
purposes. ORDERED, That Mr. T. Dorsey, Mr. Little and Mr. Steuart, be a committee to prepare and bring
in the same.

Mr. T. Dorsey, from the committee, delivers to the speaker the said bill, which was read the first time and
ordered to lie on the table.

ORDERED, That the further consideration of the bill to regulate and discipline the militia of this state be post-
poned until to-morrow.

The bill to prevent the going at large of swine and poultry in Clarksburgh, in Montgomery county, was read,
the second time, passed, and sent to the senate by the clerk.

The following message was read the first and second time, agreed to, and sent to the senate by the. clerk..
