The house, according to the order of the day, proceeded to the second reading of the report of the committee
relative, to the road from Hancock to Cumberland, and the question was put, That the blank therein be filled un
with the words " two thousand dollars?" Resolved in the affirmative.

The question was then put, That the house concur with the said report, and assent to the resolution therein
contained ?. Resolved in the affirmative.

Mr. Carroll, from the committee, delivers to the speaker the following report:

THE committee to whom was referred the petition of sundry inhabitants of Montgomery and Prince-George's
counties, praying that a road might be opened from Vans-ville, in Prince-George's county, to Montgomery
court-house, report, that from the facts presented to your committee, they are of opinion the prayer of the pe-
tition ought not at this time to be granted, and that the petitioners have leave to withdraw their petition.

By order, N. MARTIN, clk.
Which was read the first and second time by especial order and concurred with.

Mr. Stone, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act to provide for the transcribing
of certain land records in Charles county, and for making out an alphabet to the same; which was read the first
and second time by especial order and passed.

The bill for the relief of Henry Waller, of Kent county, was read the second time and passed,

Mr. C. Dorsey, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, A supplement to an act, entitled,
An act authorising Joseph Green, late sheriff and collector of Charles county, to complete his collections, and
for other purposes; which was read the first and second time by especial order and passed.

On motion, Leave given to bring in a bill, entitled, An act investing the justices of the levy courts of the
several counties in this state with further powers. ORDERED, That Mr. Emerson, Mr. O. Williams and Mr.
T. Dorsey, be a committee to prepare and. bring in the same.

Mr. Emerson, from the committee, delivers to the speaker the said bill; which was read the first time and
ordered to lie on the table.

The bill to lay out and make public a road therein mentioned in Harford county, was read the second time and
passed.

Mr. Welch, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act for the relief of Anne Terry,
of Kent county; which was read the first and second time by especial order and passed.

A petition from Jonathan Edwards and Gilbert Middleton, praying they may have the benefit of an act of in-
solvency without obtaining the assent of their creditors, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr, Steuart, Mr.
T. Dorsey and Mr. Little, to consider and report thereon.

The house: adjourns until Monday morning 9 o'clock.

MONDAY, December 28, 1807.

SUFFICIENT number of the members to make a quorum not appearing, the members present adjourn
until to-morrow morning 9 o'clock.

TUESDAY, December 29, 1807.

THE house met. Present the same members as on Thursday. The proceedings of Thursday were read.

The bill for the benefit of John Hebb, of Saint-Mary's county, the bill for the relief of Anne Terry, of Kent
county, the bill to make public a road therein mentioned in Harford county, the bill to provide for the tran-
scribing of certain land records in Charles county, and for making out an alphabet to the same, the supplement
to an act authorising Joseph Green, late sheriff and collector of Charles county, to complete his collections, and
for other purposes, the bill for the relief of Henry Waller, of Kent county, the bill to encourage the destruction
of crows in the several counties therein mentioned, and the resolution relative to the road from Hancock to
Cumberland, were sent to the senate by the clerk.

On motion, Leave given to bring in a bill, entitled, An act to prevent, for a limitted time, the sale of lands
or tenements, goods or chatties, on writs of execution, and for other purposes therein mentioned. ORDERED,
That Mr. J. E. Spencer, Mr T. Dorsey Mr. Sudler, Mr. Shaaff and Mr. Stone, be a committee, to prepare and
bring in the same.
