Mr. Steuart, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act to incorporate a fire insurance
company in the city of Baltimore; which was read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.

A petition from Thomas Stinchicomb, of Anne-Arundel county, praying a divorce from his wife Sarah, was
preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Merriken, Mr C. D. Hodges and Mr. Callis, to consider and report
thereon.

The house adjourns until to-morrow morning 9 o'clock.

WEDNESDAY, November 25, 1807.

THE house met. Present the same members as on yesterday. The proceedings of yesterday were read.
Mr. Brice appears in the house. Mr. Ayres has leave of absence.

Mr. T. Dorsey, from the committee, delivers to the speaker the following report:

RESOLVED, That in order to relieve Richard Choate, supervisor of the turnpike roads in Baltimore county,
from the embarrassments in which he is thrown by the accidental destruction, by fire, of his receipts and docu-
ments for the expenditure of the money confided to his charge during the year last passed, by virtue of his office,
the justices of the levy court for Baltimore county be and they are hereby authorised and empowered, to settle.
the account of the said Richard Choate, of the monies by him expended and received as aforesaid, without re-
quiring the actual production of the said receipts and documents, upon -being satisfied that the credits claimed
are just and proper, and arose out of the fair discharge of the duties of said supervisor.

Which was read

A petition from John Barnhart, and Sarah Barnhart his wife, of the city of Baltimore, praying a divorce, was
preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Steuart, Mr. T. Dorsey and Mr. Harryman, to consider and report thereon.

A petition from Nancy Myers, of the city of Baltimore, praying a divorce, was preferred, read, and referred
to Mr. Steuart, Mr. T. Dorsey and Air. M. Brown, to consider and report thereon.

A petition from Waltera Diiring, of Baltimore county, praying a divorce, was preferred, read, and referred
to Mr. Harryman, Mr. Little and Mr. W. H. Brown, to consider and report thereon.

A memorial from the levy court of Baltimore county, praying a law to authorise them to make an exchange of
part of the alms-house property, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Harryman, Mr. T. Dorsey, Mr. Lit-
tle, Mr. M. Brown and Mr. Steuart, to consider and report thereon.

A petition from sundry inhabitants of the city of Baltimore, praying an extension of Pratt-street, was pre-
ferred, read, and referred to Mr. Steuart, Mr. T. Dorsey, Mr. Mitchell, Mr. Bruce and Mr. M. Brown, to
consider and report thereon.

A petition from Mary Gwinn, of Frederick county, praying she may be authorised to convey or devise certain,
real property, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Hawkins, Mr. Bruce and Mr. Biggs, to consider and
report thereon.

On motion, ORDERED, That the second reading of the bill to incorporate the stockholders in the Hagar's-
town bank, be postponed until Friday next.

Mr. B. Hodges, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act to establish a public road
in Prince-George's county, from Lansdale's Branch to intersect a road leading to the Oyster-shell Landing, on.
Patuxent river; which was read the first and second time by especial order, passed, and, with the resolution in
favour of the justices of the levy court of Baltimore county, was sent to the senate by the clerk.

The bill annulling the marriage of Patrick Sim and Ariana Sim, was read the second time, passed, and sen
to the senate by the clerk.

The supplement to an act to appoint and authorise commissioners to review and lay out a part of the road
therein mentioned, in Harford county, was read the second time, passed, and sent to the senate by the clerk.

The bill annulling the marriage of Brittania Marshall, of Dorchester county, was read the second time, passed,
and sent to the senate by the clerk.

Mr. P. Spencer appears in the house.

On the second reading of the report on the petition of Frederick Green, the question was put, That the blank
therein be filled up with the words " five hundred?" Determined in the negative.

The question was then put on " four hundred and fifty. " Resolved in the affirmative.

The following order was read and agreed to.

ORDERED, That the clerk of the council be requested to produce to this house the receipt given by Frederick
Green on the settlement of his claim for printing Kilty's Laws of Maryland with the governor and council of
this state.

The question was then put, That the house concur with the said report, and assent to the resolution therein
contained? The yeas and nays being required, appeared as follow:
