Mr. Bowles, from the committee, delivers to the speaker the following report:

THE committee to whom was referred the petition of John Trueman, of the city of Annapolis, an old revo-
lutionary officer, beg leave to report, that having examined the said petition, and believing the same to be true
as therein stated, submit the following resolution:

RESOLVED, That the treasurer of the western shore be and he is hereby authorised and directed to pay to the.
said John Trueman the sum of —— dollars, out of any unappropriated money in the treasury.

All which, is submitted.

A petition from Robert Nesbitt, praying a special act of insolvency, was preferred, read, and referred to the
committee appointed on petitions of a similar nature.

Mr. Little, from the committee, delivers to the speaker the bill, entitled, An act to lay out and make a pub-
lic road in Baltimore county, as amended; which was read the firs: and second time by especial order and passed.

A memorial from Jeremiah Townley Chase, Esquire, of the city of Annapolis, praying that a resolution may
pass authorising the chancellor to grant a deed to him and Samuel Chase for two undivided third parts of land
purchased of the state by them and Luther Martin, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Shaaff, Mr. T.
Dorsey and Mr. Muir, to consider and report thereon.

On motion, Leave given to bring in a bill, entitled, A supplement to an act, entitled, An act to establish and
incorporate a medical and Chirurgical faculty or society in the state of Maryland. ORDERED, That Mr. Seth,
Mr. King, Mr. Mitchell, Mr. Davis and Mr. Porter, be a committee to prepare and bring in the same.

Mr. Merriken, from the committee, delivers to the speaker the following report:

THE committee to whom was referred the petition of Keally Tydings, beg leave to report, that they have
taken the same into consideration, and are of opinion that the prayer of the petitioner is just, and ought to be
granted; they therefore beg leave to submit the following resolution:

RESOLVED, That the treasurer of the western shore be and he is hereby authorised and required to pay to
Keally Tydings, of Anne-Arundel county, late soldier in the revolutionary war, or to his order, in half yearly
payments, a sum of money equal to the half pay of a sergeant.

All which is submitted.

A memorial from William Gwynn, of the city of Baltimore, praying a law may pass authorising the right and
claim of Baltimore count) to part of lot No. eleven in said city to be conveyed to him, on his paying a reasona-
ble compensation for the same, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. T. Dorsey, Mr: Little, Mr; Bruce,
Mr. Harryman and Mr. Steuart, to consider and report thereon.

The house proceeded to the second reading of the supplement to an act, entitled, An act for the relief of
sundry insolvent debtors, and, on motion, the question was put, That the said bill be recommitted for amend-
ment? Resolved in the affirmative.

Mr. Frazier, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, A supplement to an act, entitled,
An act relating to the public roads in the several counties therein mentioned; which was read the first time and
ordered to lie on the table.

A petition from John Deenors, of Washington county, praying to be released from confinement, was pre-
ferred, read, and referred to the committee appointed on the petition of Thomas South.

Mr. T. Moffit, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act to make valid the will of
Arthur M'Dade, late of Caecil county, deceased; which was read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.

The report of the committee appointed on the memorial of John Gassaway, register of wills for Anne-Arun-
del county, was read the second time, and the question put, That the house concur therewith, and assent to the
resolutions therein contained? Determined in the negative.

Mr. Schnebly, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled. An act authorising a lottery to
raise a sum of money for the purpose of finishing the steeple of Saint-John's church in Elizabeth-town, in Wash-
ington county, and for other purposes; which was read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.

The house adjourns until to-morrow morning 9 o'clock.

WEDNESDAY, November 18, 1807.

THE house met. Present the same members as on yesterday. The proceedings of yesterday were read.
A petition from John Troxal, of Frederick county, praying his title to a house and lot in Emmitsburgh may
be confirmed, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Biggs, Mr. Hawkins and Mr. Schnebly, to consider and
report thereon.

A petition from George Williamson, of Queen-Anne's county, praying a special act of insolvency, was pre-
ferred, read, and referred to the committee appointed on petitions of a similar nature.
