The bill for the relief and benefit of the poor, and trustees of the poor, of Washington county, was read the
second time, passed, and sent to the senate by the clerk.
On motion, Leave given to bring in a bill, entitled, A supplement to an act, entitled, An act to prevent free
negroes from selling any corn, wheat or, tobacco, without having a license for that purpose from a justice of the
peace. ORDERED, That Mr. Stevens, Mr. Stone and Mt. P. Spencer, be a committee to prepare and bring in
the same.
The clerk of the senate delivers the bill authorising Thomas J. Pattison, sheriff and collector of Dorchester
county to complete his collection, endorsed, "will pass with the proposed amendments; " which amendments
were read the first and second time by especial order, agreed to, and the bill ordered to be engrossed.
Mr. Bowles, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act to incorporate the Stock-
holders of the Hagar's-town Bank; which was read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.
Mr. W. H. Brown, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a. bill, entitled, An act to revive and aid the pro-
ceedings of the orphans court of St. Mary's county; which was read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.
A petition from Keally Tydings, stating that he has been a soldier, and praying half pay for life, was pre-
ferred, read, and referred to Mr.. Merriken, Mr. Belt and Mt. C. D. Hodges, to consider and report thereon.
The following resolution was read.
RESOLVED, That the clerk of the house of delegates be and he is hereby required to collect the resolutions
passed by the general assembly of Maryland from the year 1778 to the year 1804, inclusive, and make a fair re-
cord of them in a book prepared for that purpose, and the same to lay before the next legislature, for their in-
spection and examination, to be by them, or their speaker, certified as a true and correct record of the resoluti-
ons passed during the period afore-mentioned, and the same shall, for safe keeping, be placed in the hands of
the clerk to the house of delegates; and a copy of any resolution therein contained shall, upon being attested
by him, be received in evidence in any court of law or equity, or before any judge, justice, or other tribunal in
this state, in the same manner, and to have the same effect, as if the original resolution was itself produced,
provided the said copy, so attested, is sworn to be a true copy by the clerk attesting.
The bill authorising Joseph Green, late sheriff and collector of Charles county, to complete his collection,
was read the second time,. passed, and sent to the senate by the clerk.
A petition from Nathaniel L. Chew, of Baltimore county, praying a special act of insolvency, was preferred,
read, and referred to Mr. T. Dorsey, Mr. Steuart and Mr. Shaaff, to consider and report thereon.

THE house met. Present the same members as on yesterday. The proceedings of yesterday were read
The speaker laid before the house a letter from the treasurer of the eastern shore, enclosing an account of the
receipts and expenditures of the eastern shore treasury for the year ending the 31st October last; also a list of
balances due on the treasury books, and the treasurer's account current with the state; which was read and re
ferred to the committee of claims.
A petition from sundry inhabitants of Greensborough, in Caroline county, praying a supplement may pass to
the act preventing swine and geese from going at large in that village, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr.
Boon, Mr. Jump and Mr. Holbrook, to consider and report thereon.
The supplement to an act, entitled, An act for the benefit of Robert Williams, a free black man, and of hie
wife and children, was read the second time, passed, and sent to the senate by the clerk.
The speaker laid before the house a letter from the representatives of John Babtist Chirac, praying that their
petition, presented to the legislature last session, may be taken into consideration; which was read and referred
to Mr. Stone, Mr. Bruce, Mr. Kerr, Mr. Bowles and Mr. Harryman, to consider and report thereon.
On motion, Leave given to bring in a bill, entitled, An act authorising the levy court of Washington county
to levy a sum of money for the purpose therein mentioned. ORDERED, That Mr. Schnebly, Mr. Bowles and
Mr. Tabbs, be a committee to prepare and bring in the same.
A petition from John Burgoyne, of Caecil county, praying a law may pass confirming in him the title to pro-
perty left by his father, who was an alien, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Mitchell, Mr. T. Moffit and
Mr. Porter, to consider and report thereon.

collection, was read the second time, passed, and sent to the senate by the clerk.
