Succeffors, fhall enjoy without any notable
dammage, or injury, to be done to the faid now
Lord Baltemore, his heires,or affignes, or to the
dwellers and inhabitants of the faid Province,
in the Ports, Creekes and fhores aforefaid, and
efpecially in the woods and Copfes growing
within the faid Province: And if any fhall doe
any fuch dammage, or injury, he fhall incurre

the heavy difpleafure of Vs, Our Heires and
Succeffors, the punifhment of the Lawes, and
fhall moreover make fatisfaction.
WEE doe furthermore, will, appoint, and
ordaine, and by thefe Prefents, for Vs, Our
Heires and Succeffors, We doe grant unto the
faid now Lord Baltemore, his heires and af-
fignes, that he the faid Lord Baltemore, his
heires and affignes, may from time to time for
ever, have and enjoy, the Cuftomes and Subfi-
dies, in the Ports, Harbours, and other Creekes
and places aforefaid, within the Province afore-
faid; payable, or due for merchandizes and
wares, there to be laded or unladed, the faid
Cuftomes and Subfidies to be reafonably af-
feffcd (upon any occafion) by themfelves and
the people there, as aforefaid; to whom we give
power by thefe Prefents, for Vs, Our Heires and
Succeffors upon juft caufe, and in a due pro-
portion, to affeffe and impofe the fame.
