    And the afd Ellis in his proper cometh & Saith that he is in no Sort guilty
of the psses above him Imposed as by the afd Indictment it is alledged
and thereof he putteth himself upon the Country

    And he who followeth for the Lord prop.ry in like manner Saith he is
Guilty

    Thereupon Command was given to the Sherf of Kent County that he
Immediatly cause to come here twelve &c.a by whom &c.a who neither &c.a to
recognize &c.a because as well &c.a of which said precept the said Sherf to
with John Gresham Gent now here at this day to wit the ninteenth
Day of March Anno Dom Seventeen hundred & twenty Seven makes
return that he hath here ready twelve &c.a as by his pcept he was
Commanded  And now here afterwards to wit the day & year last mentioned
Come again the afd Lord proprietary by his Attry afd And Ellis
Foulks in his proper pson afd and the Jurors of that Jury being
Impannalled and Called likewise Came to wit Samuel Groom,
Samuel Tovey, Samuel Norris, Phillip reason, Henry Trulock,
Robert Dunn Jun.r, Abram Ambrose, John Clove, Robert Green,
Humphry Younger, Arthor Foreman, And John James, who being
duly Elected tryed & Sworn to say the truth in the premisses upon their
Oath do say that the afd Ellis Foulks is Guilty as to Stealing the bridle
in the above Indictment Set fourth and by Samuell Groom their
foreman all so Say And y.t he is not guilty of Stealling y.e Sadle above mentioned

    Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit at the
Court house in the Town of Chester in said County this ninteenth
Day of March Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred twenty & seven that
the afd Ellis Foulks Stand on the pillory for the Space of One
hour and that afterwards he receive at the publick whiping post
fifteen Lashes well laid on his bear back till the blood appears as
a punishment for his afd Crime of felony according to the force form
and Effect of the Verdict afd also it is Considered that the said Ellis
Foulks pay the sum of Nineteen hundred & fifty two pounds of tob.o
Costs Accruing on the psses afd to the officers of this Court
   
    Ordered by the Court here at this Day to wit the Day & year
last mentioned that the Sherf of Kent County take the afd Ellis Foulks
into his Custody and Execute the punishment ^in the Judgm.t^ afd is as afd against
afd Specified and afterwards to bring him into Court again of which precept
the Said Sherf to wit John Gresham Gent High Sherf of Kent County
                                                                                                makes
